April 19th, 2015– We did a crab/salmon combo trip today. We crabbed up north off Ten Mile Beach. The big swells that we had the last few days kind of moved my gear around so we spent some time straightening it out. In the process of doing that we managed to score limits of crabs for the customers. 60 nice big ones. Then we headed down towards Ft. Bragg to try and get in on the hot salmon bite. We fished outside about 4 miles out in 360 of water. The fish were up shallow and full of fight. We lost several due to the fact that when they got to the boat, they weren’t ready to give up yet and often when that’s the case they tend to spit the hooks. We ended up with a fish per angler. Biggest one caught was by Curtis Branch out of Clearlake Oaks. Nice job Curtis. Ocean calmed down considerably from yesterday. Fish-On!!
