Thursday May 16, 2013– Our first trip out for rockfish this year. We fished south off the Yellow House in about 60-90 ft of water. The ocean was flat and the winds were calm. AND the lings were snapping. Big Bob (local) fished next to me on the bow and brought 17 lings to the boat. That’s got to be a record! He was fishing with 4 and 6 oz ledheads with scampi tails. I don’t think it mattered what color he was using. He had the touch today. Everyone else had great action on the lings too, just not quite that much. We ended up with limits of lings and limits of rockfish. Nice grade of Blacks, and olives. Nothing real big on the lings, around 10 lbs or so. Great day on the water! Fish-On!
